The Council
“Do you guys actually sell cookies?” We get asked this a lot so let’s just get it out of the way now… yes, yes we do.
OUR HISTORY
The guild was originally started back in 2006 by a bunch of friends who played Counterstrike together that decided to come see what the wonderful world of Azeroth had to give them. The guild thrived and made a name for itself on Spinebreaker as a PVP guild primarily, that started to dabble into the PVE space. As sometimes happens, drama happened (see Guild Lore), a server AND faction transfer, and a couple expansions later the guild was in a comatose state waiting to return to its former glory. The rebirth happened much like any other rags to riches storyline; it started with the launch of Classic WoW, sneaking off to Retail to PVP, whispered conversations about community, and dreams about the possibilities of what could be. Then one fateful night the conversation sparked action and We Sell Cookies was revived. Two determined individuals started transferring toons, and eventually started luring a few chosen others to join. This group is now known as The Council. The Council started working hard at rebuilding but also remodeling what once was into something even greater. The Council continues to lead and guide from behind the scenes and enjoys the game when real life allows.
WHAT WE ARE ABOUT
The cookies are about the community we have fostered and selfishly protect. It’s about having a space in Azeroth where you are free to play whatever class or spec you’d like without any judgement. We realize that not everyone knows everything even though “the game has been around for ages…” and are willing to help people learning the game for the first time or relearning it after being away for a bit. We are social and want to enjoy the virtual escape as well as achieve some goals within the game. We like to Raid, run Mythics, PVP, and we like to hang out in discord and laugh at ourselves. Sometimes we wipe, sometimes we lose, sometimes some of us do dumb stuff like fall off of elevators and die, but we do all of that while also still having fun. We are here to enjoy the game, enjoy our community, and enjoy this little slice of virtual reality that we call home.
The Cookies Council
Midnytstorm <GM/Boss Lady/Council Member>
Mid has been playing since the tail end of Vanilla way back in 2006. She was talked into playing by a friend, who just happened to be the first GM of the Cookies. Mid has dabbled on & off with each expansion since WotLK and came back strong since the Classic relaunch late in 2019. In early 2020, Mid and Noob decided to revive the Cookies, so here we are!
You can usually find her online each night until around midnight when she’s in danger of being turned into a cannibalistic pumpkin. She’s a regular in the discord channels and down for most adventures. It isn’t really a Freehold run until you’ve run Freehold with Mid.
Noobari <Council Member/Website Wizard>
Noob has been playing WoW since WoW was a thing. He’s come a long way from being guildless and fishing off the pier in Ashenvale. Now, not only is he our resident real life walking encyclopedia of all things Azerothian, he is also the wizard behind this website! If he doesn’t know the answer, he can usually find it! You’ll find him online most nights for a couple stolen hours when not inundated with kids, work, or studies for a bigger and brighter future!
He’ll hop on discord when needed, but his voice will remain a mystery because he’d prefer typing. There’s current Guild lore circulating about why… but only a select few really know.
Tornak <Council Member>
Tor has been playing since the early Vanilla days too, because if Mid and Gid are up to shenanigans… as their cousin… he is right there with them. Tor is the financial genius of the group and is in charge of anything number related. He’ll make sure we stay in the red… or is it the black… see he’s the numbers guy!
You’ll find him online at different times of the day and night as well because he’s so good with numbers he makes his own schedule! Tor is very busy these days trying to manifest a dream and a vision but you’ll still hear his sweet dulcet tones in discord each night he happens to be on and we have any events going on.
Gid <Council Member>
Gid has been playing since his sister, Mid, talked him into joining her on this fun new game she found. He has been following in his sister’s footsteps all their lives, especially with most of the games and some music. He is the creative genius behind several of the Cookie logos and designs.
You’ll find him playing at different times of the day since his schedule is all over the place but you can usually talk him into ruining some horde’s day with some PvP. While on discord he will regale you with the worst (best) corny zingers, as well as making sure to keep everyone on task and having fun.
Drizztstorm <Council Member>
Drizz has been in Azeroth since he was a little kid watching his Mom (Mid) and Uncles (Gid and Tor) playing the game and eventually having his own account. He is our resident Warlock and Chef! He’ll portal you anywhere you need and have cake waiting when you get there! His online schedule is spotty right now since he’s recently flown the coop and is making his way out in the big bright world!
When he is online, you’ll definitely find him in discord where Mid is most likely threatening to stab him in the throat because he tends to yawn in everyone’s ear.
